“He who eats My flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on me will live because of me… Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?” When Jesus knew in Himself that His disciples complained about this, He said to them, “Does this offend you?”- (Jn 6:56-57,60-61)
The life of Christian disciples is more than what we may have made it. It entails more from these scriptures. It is obvious we are selective concerning what the Word says about being in Christ. We don’t apply many things which may matter in the final analysis.
Imagine being ‘a Christian’ but hardly participates in things the Lord has prescribed. For instance, He talks about “feeding on me” (‘eating His flesh’, ‘drinking His blood’). Many who claim to follow Jesus do not attach any importance to the communion. Many skip it-some haven’t taken it for years, though they still believe they’re Christians.
Hear the Lord Himself: “you have no life in you”. That is, you are not receiving His life into you. Some underestimate it, even some others were offended because they didn’t know what they were to receive. Just like this one, many things the scriptures teach have great implications whether we follow them or not. Our Christian life will not be complete unless we partake of all that the Lord wants us to. Know them and desire to follow them.
Happy new month
