Living pure for Christ

History…

Sister Irene Morrow, now Rev. Irene Morrow (of the Irish Conference) was a missionary in charge of the Kwadaso Women’s Training Centre in the early sixties. In 1964 she founded the Methodist Girl’s Fellowship at Bethel Methodist Church, Takoradi. They were under the care of the Women’s Fellowship.

The main aim was to train young girls who were not enrolled in school in marketable skills and Bible study. This was at a time when she felt that house helps, especially, were not catered for in the Church’s setting.

The Fellowship therefore started with house helps, and girls who were not enrolled in school, but now with changes in development in the life of the church, girls from primary, Senior High Schools and even those in tertiary institutions who desire to be with the fellowship are allowed to become members. The reason being that it is the place for the development and nurturing of young girls into becoming mature women found to be upright in all spheres of life.

Men’s Fellowship in IMC was established in 2005…
