Boys’ Brigade

Sure and Steadfast
History…
The Boy’s Brigade was started by Sir William Alexander Smith of the Church of Scotland in Glasgow on 4th October, 1883. Sir Smith was a Sunday school teacher of the church with thirty boys in class. He was also a commander in the Royal Volunteer Force. It was his experience with the men of the Force which first intrigued and led him to have compassion for the boys in the Sunday School. Accordingly, he introduced the disciplinary methods in the Army to his new organization of the Sunday School Class. The success was quite outstanding. The movement therefore spread quickly throughout the British Isles and beyond.
Men’s Fellowship in IMC was established in 2005…
